The Ford F-150 comes in 7 different trim levels: The XL, XLT, LARIAT, King Ranch®, Platinum, Limited, and Raptor. With each trim level, you can customize your model with different configurations. Drivers can choose from a Regular, SuperCab, or SuperCrew® cab, and a 5.5 foot, 6.5 foot, or 8 foot box.

The Ram 1500 comes with 7 different trim levels as well: The Tradesman, Big Horn/Lonestar, Laramie, Rebel, Longhorn, and Limited. Nampa drivers can choose between a Quad Cab or Crew Cab, and different wheel base sizes.

Although both of these truck lineups provide a large amount of customizability, only the Ram 1500 configurations offer features like standard remote keyless entry and standard Uconnect® 3 with a 5-inch display.

Ram 1500 vs. Ford F-150: Towing Capacity & Other Performance Features

The Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 towing capacities are comparable. The Ram 1500 has a towing capacity of 12,750 pounds and the Ford F-150 has a towing capacity of 13,200 pounds, proving that both trucks have impressive capability. The Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 are comparable in regards to their engines as well. The Ram 1500 has a 3.6L V6 engine that generates 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque, and the F-150 comes equipped with a 3.3L V6 engine that produces 290 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque.

While the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 are similar in these regards, the Ram 1500 offers certain performance features that are not available on the F-150, including a standard 8-speed automatic transmission (F-150 comes with a standard 6-speed automatic). As a result, the Ram 1500 provides more responsive and smooth handling compared to the F-150.
